Happy Memories (3)

January 27th, 1997. Mom Mom and Pop Pop's 40th Wedding Anniversary celebration. It was such a happy occasion!! It was a surprise party held in their honor! :) They were happily married for 53 years and if she had lived until May 18th, they would have been dating for 54 years!!! Such a beautiful love story!! They are one of the very few examples of true love I have ever seen in my life. He was by her side to the very end. So bittersweet! <3

Happy Memories (1)

This is a picture of my Mom Mom holding me when I was a baby. :) Hiding behind me is my Mom. :) Mom never did like her picture taken for some reason. Just look at that smile on Mom Mom's face. She had such a beautiful smile. I'd give anything just to see her smile again.....

Lyrics - "Just Once More" by Nelson (Dedicated to Mom Mom by Me)

JUST ONCE MORE
(Gunnar Nelson/Matthew Nelson/Steven McClintock/Victoria Shaw)

I've got a million pictures in my heart and here at home
But I'm afraid that they'll just fade with time
And photographs are cold
And a memory's hard to hold
And I never got the chance to say goodbye
One more day-one more night
One more chance to get it right
A few more words-a few more laughs
Doesn't seem too much to ask
And I know it's just a dream
But I'd give everything
If you'd walk through that door just once more
Sometimes I catch myself asking you out loud
What you'd do if you were in my place
'Cause every day in every way
I've tried to make you proud
I wish that I could tell you face to face
One more day-one more night
One more chance to get it right
A few more words-a few more laughs
Doesn't seem too much to ask
And I know it's just a dream
But I'd give everything
If you'd walk through that door just once more
Seasons come and seasons go
But love lives on-you taught me so
Oh-I've been blessed, I don't think twice
But wouldn't it be nice
One more day-one more night
One more chance to get it right
A few more words-a few more laughs
Doesn't seem too much to ask
And I know it's just a dream
But I'd give everything
If you'd walk through that door just once more

Letter From Heaven (Poem from Mom Mom's Funeral)

Letter From Heaven

To my dearest family, there are some things I’d like to say,
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I am writing this from Heaven; here I dwell with God above.
Here, there is no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I am out of sight.
Remember that I am with you morning, day and night.
That day I had to leave you, when my life on earth was through, God
Picked me up and hugged me, and He said, “I welcome you,
It’s good to have you back again you were missed while you were gone.
As for your family, they’ll be here later on.
I need you here badly, as you are part of my special plan.
There is so much that we have to do to save our mortal man.”
God gave me a list of things that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you… In the middle of the night.
When you think about my life on earth, and all those loving years,
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring up tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned,
If I were to tell you, you wouldn’t understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over,
I’m closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I’d like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give unto you.
If you can help somebody who is in sorrow and pain,
Then you can say to God at night… “My day was not in vain”.
And now I am contented… that my life was worthwhile,
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low;
Just lend a hand to pick them up, as you go along the way.
When you’re walking down the street and you’ve got me on your mind,
I’m walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it’s time for you to go… from that body to be free,
Remember, you are not going… you are coming here to me.
